Ronaldo Gabriel, studied sport science, physical education and biomechanics at Technical University of Lisbon and received his PhD from University of Trás-os-Montes & Alto Douro (UTAD) in 1999 with emphasis in biomechanics of human movement. He is currently Associate Professor with Habilitation of the Department of Sport Sciences, Exercise and Health at UTAD, where he lecture, advice graduate and postdoc students and conduct research in ecological biomechanics. He is coordination board member and researcher of the UNESCO Chair on Geoparks, Regional Sustainable Development and Healthy Lifestyles. Their current research interests are focus on linking sustainable ecosystems and human health, especially, measuring exposure to nature, measuring outcomes, understanding mechanisms, demonstrating causality at a population level, and the effect size.
